When I was little I think I watched this music video a gazillion times. I thought Micheal Jackson was cool and I loved animals and weird stuff so this music video fit me to a tee. I especially loved the "shrine to Elizabeth Taylor" and that he destroys everything in the end.
I think this may have become my standard for judging all other music videos ^^;
I liked MJ too when I was little and I first saw this music video in his movie "Moonwalker" and to be honest...it scared the heck outta me! XD I don't know why but it did. Although it did make the young me inquire as to just exactly who Elizabeth Taylor was and I found one of my favorite movies from that search. Cleopatra! XD
Really is scared you?! I will admit that certain aspects unnerved me as a child. There was a feeling of despair that, as a youth, I was unable to articulate.
Which now I understand is the director's effort, using symbols and images, to CONVEY the despair and oppression of being turned into a...spectacle.
And I never saw Cleopatra! But I loved "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" I've only ever seen her in two other movies ("Suddenly, Last Summer" and "Taming of the Shrew) but that one is probably my favorite.
