I think Deanna was the character I identified the most with on the Enterprise besides Data. Probably because she had those empathic abilities and that's a word commonly used to describe me. She was also the most vulnerable of the crew. Who can forget her many mega headaches that nearly killed her during her career as counselor? But also vulnerable in her relationships with others. I mean was it just me or did she always get the worst deal of everyone she ever fell in love with it.

And now she's FINALLY married to Riker.

Which I guess is a plus...

But still has to counsel Lieutenant Barcaly.

That's like a 24-hour JOB.

Whenever I watched Star Trek: TNG I always thought the character Dr. Crusher was one of the most attractive members of the crew. She was professional, concerned about the crew, knowledgeable (who can forget the episode where only SHE knew that time had become irregular), and always feminine. To me she was a "woman" while Deanna Troi, who was cute, lacked the confidence you always so in Dr. Crusher.
